New Playable Race: The Anzati
The Anzati are one of the most mysterious, ancient, and feared species in the galaxy, known for their predatory nature and vampiric abilities. Existing in the fringes of the galaxy, their culture, physiology, and methods of survival have inspired countless legends and horror stories throughout galactic history. They have been present for millennia, operating in the shadows, and are largely regarded with fear and superstition by other species.
Physiology and Characteristics
Anzati are functionally immortal, capable of living for thousands of years without showing significant signs of aging. Despite their longevity, they do not visibly age beyond a certain point, which often makes them appear deceptively young. This agelessness has led to rumors of their immortality, although they are not invulnerable to injury or death by other means. This long life allows them to accumulate vast knowledge and experience over the centuries, making them patient and dangerous opponents.
The most infamous aspect of Anzati physiology is their need to feed on the life essence of other beings, which they refer to as “soup.” This life essence is drawn directly from the brain and central nervous system of their victims, consumed through specialized tendrils, called proboscises, which are hidden in pouches located on either side of their faces. These tendrils are retractable, and they extend when the Anzati feeds.
Anzati feed by inserting their proboscises into their victim’s nostrils or mouth, reaching into the brain to extract this “soup.” This process is not only fatal for the victim, but also incredibly addictive for the Anzati. The older and more experienced they are, the stronger their hunger becomes. Many Anzati struggle with the constant desire to feed, leading to a predatory nature that dominates much of their lives.
Psychic Abilities
In addition to their physical prowess, many Anzati possess potent psychic abilities. These are often used to manipulate the thoughts and emotions of others, allowing them to hunt more effectively. Anzati can cloud the minds of their prey, instilling fear or confusion to immobilize them before they strike. Some can even implant subtle mental suggestions or control their targets briefly, though this requires focus and is more difficult against individuals with strong wills or Force sensitivity.
Though Anzati are not inherently Force-sensitive, some have been known to wield the Force, amplifying their psychic abilities even further. This has led to occasional interactions between Anzati and the Jedi or Sith, with both Orders showing interest in their mental prowess. However, due to their predatory and morally ambiguous nature, Anzati rarely align themselves fully with either side.
Culture and Society
The Anzati are a deeply secretive and insular species, with a culture that revolves around stealth, patience, and the art of the hunt. They are not a highly social species, and most Anzati live solitary lives, driven by their constant need to feed and avoid detection.
- Isolationist Nature: The Anzati largely keep to themselves, preferring to stay hidden from the wider galaxy. They value secrecy and survival above all else, knowing that most species would never accept their predatory nature. Anzati often operate as assassins, mercenaries, or spies, professions that allow them to indulge in their hunting instincts while remaining unnoticed.
- Homeworld: The home planet of the Anzati is Anzat, a world shrouded in mystery. It is located deep in the Mid Rim and is largely uncharted by galactic standards, with few outsiders ever visiting. Anzat is known for its dark, mist-covered forests and ancient ruins, giving it an air of ancient power and isolation. The planet’s society is largely decentralized, with Anzati living in small enclaves or alone, only coming together for important rituals or when it is absolutely necessary.
- Hunting Rituals: The act of feeding is not merely biological for the Anzati; it is ritualistic and almost sacred. Older Anzati often view the consumption of life essence as a way to not only sustain themselves but also gain knowledge and power from their victims. In some rare cases, Anzati who have fed on powerful Force-users or individuals of great intellect claim to have inherited memories or fragments of their personalities, though this is not fully understood.
- Addiction to Feeding: Anzati are consumed by their hunger for “soup,” and the older they become, the more insatiable this hunger grows. This addiction is both a strength and a weakness, as it drives them to become more skilled predators but also causes them to spiral into madness if left unchecked. Some Anzati struggle with maintaining control, while others fully embrace their predatory nature, becoming little more than feral hunters.
Notable Anzati in History
Jedi Master Nikkos Tyris: One of the few known Force-sensitive Anzati, Nikkos Tyris was a Jedi Master who later fell to the dark side. His fall was linked to his Anzati nature, as his need to feed on “soup” conflicted with Jedi teachings of restraint. Tyris became a powerful dark side practitioner, using his psychic abilities to manipulate others.
Dannik Jerriko: A well-known Anzati assassin during the time of the Galactic Empire, Dannik Jerriko was feared for his precision and cold, calculated demeanor. He operated as a mercenary for various crime lords, but his true motive was always the hunt, feeding on the life essence of his targets.

New Operation: The Veilspire Ascension
Location: Veilspire Peak, the towering, foreboding mountain that dominates the landscape of Anzati. At its summit lies an ancient, abandoned fortress once used by the Anzati to train their most powerful warriors. The fortress is now overrun by dark side energies and powerful enemies, but hidden within its depths are powerful relics that could change the course of the war.
Storyline:
Both the Republic and Empire send elite teams to ascend Veilspire Peak and claim the fortress at the top. As they climb, they encounter the ancient spirits of Anzati warriors and dark side entities who have taken up residence in the abandoned stronghold. The summit holds an artifact of immense power, rumored to be capable of bending the wills of entire armies. The teams must overcome the mountain’s harsh elements, traps, and defenders to reach the top.

New Galactic Season
Location: Veilspire Peak, the towering, foreboding mountain that dominates the landscape of Anzati. At its summit lies an ancient, abandoned fortress once used by the Anzati to train their most powerful warriors. The fortress is now overrun by dark side energies and powerful enemies, but hidden within its depths are powerful relics that could change the course of the war.
Storyline Overview: The “Shadows of the Veil” Galactic Season ties directly into the events of the “Veil of the Ancients” expansion, acting as an extended narrative that delves into the hidden mysteries of the Anzati and the ancient relics scattered across the planet. The season’s storyline revolves around a covert faction known as the Veil Wardens, an enigmatic group of Anzati who have guarded the ancient relics and secrets of their people for millennia. Both the Republic and Empire have learned of the Veil Wardens and seek their aid—or their downfall.
Starting Location: Fort Dawn (Republic) / Shadowfall Spire (Empire)
Players will receive a mysterious message from a contact claiming to be a Veil Warden. The contact invites them to meet at a secluded part of Fort Dawn (Republic players) or Shadowfall Spire (Empire players). Upon arrival, players encounter a Veil Warden agent who introduces them to the ongoing conflict and the ancient secrets hidden on Anzati. This marks the beginning of the season-long storyline.
Galactic Season Storyline Progression:
Throughout the season, players will uncover more about the Veil Wardens and their true motives. Are they protectors of ancient knowledge, or do they have a darker agenda? Players must navigate this new relationship while balancing the needs of their faction and the potential power of the relics hidden on Anzati.
As the storyline progresses, players will complete weekly and daily objectives related to the new flashpoints, operations, and planet activities introduced in the expansion. They will also undertake missions to collect relic fragments, decode ancient Anzati inscriptions, and uncover hidden locations throughout the new areas.
